Delivery services are becoming more popular as we bunker down during the pandemic across several industries. With an increase of lockdowns, quarantines, and social distancing, we look to convenient services to help with our everyday errands. So, there’s no surprise that food delivery services expect to hit $200 billion by 2025 according to
Forbes.
What used to be considered as “luxury” food delivery services such as Doordash, UberEats, and Freshly are now a need and seem to fit into today’s lifestyle. In an interview earlier this year, Colin Crowley, the VP of Customer Experience at Freshly, states,
“We have customers who use us and fit us in each of their lifestyles to lead healthier lives so they can be someone who is a young urban professional with a super busy life, or [now] people who send our meals to their elderly parents and don’t have the ability to cook all the time. The use cases are so many but they all have the common theme of helping people lead better lives in a world that’s increasingly busy.”
With a shift into this new lifestyle, consumers want to ease their lives. As a result, the customer experience is shifting towards online services that will help with everyday duties without having to leave the comfort of their homes.
How the new lifestyle affected the Customer Experience Strategies Summit
The Customer Experience Strategies Summit has shifted from an in-person conference to a virtual conference in 2020. Consumers looked forward to an in-person conference due to its “face-to-face” networking opportunities. Since then, virtual events have taken over and have created a need to replicate the experience of live events.
No more physical booths with pamphlets and giveaways, no more shaking hands and introducing yourself to the CEO of your favorite company, and no more sitting at a random table with other professionals at lunch to widen your network. Well, that’s not true! The Customer Experience Strategies Summit has managed to encompass all of those experiences online with roundtables, video chats, direct messaging, live sessions and panel discussions, exhibitor pages, and more!
